2025 CPS Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient
In 2025, the Canadian Peony Society honoured Blaine Marchand with its Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his longstanding contributions to the Society and the promotion of peonies in Canada.
A past president of the CPS and former editor of its newsletter, Paeonia Nordica, Blaine has played an important role in sharing knowledge about peonies and promoting their appreciation. His contributions extend beyond the Society itself. He was also involved in the initiative that led to the issue of Canadian postage stamps featuring peonies, bringing these beautiful flowers to the attention of a wider public.
Through his leadership, writing and advocacy, Blaine has helped raise the profile of peonies and highlight their place in Canada’s horticultural heritage. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes his lasting contribution to the Canadian peony community.
