Joan Campbell

2025 CPS Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

In 2025, the Canadian Peony Society honoured Joan Campbell with its Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her longstanding contributions to the Society and the peony community.

As Vice-President and a member of the CPS Board of Directors, Joan has contributed to the Society’s leadership and activities over many years.

One of her notable contributions was coordinating the Society’s 25th anniversary project at the Shakespearean Garden in Stratford, Ontario. Working with the Friends of the Shakespearean Garden, the City of Stratford and peony suppliers, she helped develop a public peony display that included the planned donation of 75 peony roots. Joan has also contributed to the Society’s seed program alongside John Moons, helping share peonies with growers and enthusiasts.

Through her leadership, project coordination and volunteer work, Joan has helped strengthen the Society and promote the enjoyment of peonies.

The award recognizes Joan’s sustained commitment to the Society and her contributions to the community of people who grow, study and share their love of peonies.
